Katja Cahoon, a German psychotherapist with advanced degrees from major German, UK, and US universities, is one of Avalon’s most talented and popular Teacher Training graduates ever. Katja flies regularly between the Bay Area and Kansas City, in both of which she runs thriving private practices, and is licensed to offer online Therapy in New Hampshire as well. Katja has also taught at William James College in Massachusetts and Stephen’s College in Missouri and is a frequent speaker at major professional Conferences.

DON'T SHOOT THE SECOND ARROW! FREEDOM FROM SUFFERING: AN INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS
Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. This is the major theme of this two-day interactive, inclusive, in-person Workshop at Avalon Yoga International. It is for anyone who wants to start or deepen a mindfulness practice but is not sure how to do it. Based on the Insight Meditation tradition, the Workshop is for both beginners and those with experience in mindfulness. We will go over basic / foundational principles of mindfulness and meditation, including dispelling prominent myths that stand in the way of attaining a sustainable practice. And there will be yoga and movement in the Workshop too! At the end you will feel rejuvenated, energized, and ready to implement a mindfulness practice capable in real ways of transforming your life.
